Mandatory Training: All Taffy's Legacy dogs requires a home that can commit to their training with a professional trainer to set dogs up for success. We have partnered with Training Dogs Online to give Taffy's Legacy adopters 50% off to their lifetime program, however we can also recommend other great local or online programs. Adoptions will not be finalized till we have proof of signing up with a training program that we approve of.
Vetting: Rye has received his first DAPP shot.
Rye is being fostered in Kitchener, ON
Dogs: Friendly and loves to play! He likes to nip while playing which he is learning not to do from the dogs reactions.
Cats: Unknown.
Kids: Unknown.
Strangers: He’s liked everyone that he’s met! He jumps up when excited so that will need to be addressed.
Crate: Takes a bit to settle down once he’s in there but goes in willingly with a treat. He doesn’t have accidents in there anymore unless left for a longer period of time.
Car: Whines and barks but settles once at a steady pace or stopped at a light but then starts again.
Leash: He doesn’t pull with is around his neck. He doesn’t like the over the nose part of the slip lead and tries to pull it off.
Resources: Hasn’t shown any issues. He plays with our dogs toys and will growl during tug of war but I think it’s playful versus anything else.
Confidence: He’s pretty confident and adventurous.
Energy Level: High.
Affection: He likes all people and does cuddle a bit and likes to give ‘kisses’
Behavioural: Working on house training, he’s had accidents but the frequency is less.
Training: He will eat a lot which makes training easy!
Best Traits: Quirky, adventurous, friendly and a great learner.
Needs Improvement: House training, jumping up are the main things but I think he will eventually learn those pretty easily since he’s shown improvements
HERE'S WHAT RYE'S FOSTER HAS TO SAY:
Rye is already such a great dog and he’s learning every day to be better behaved. He learned sit the second day we had him! He’s super friendly and loves to play with other dogs and humans. We haven’t introduced him to any person or dog he hasn’t immediately liked! He’s been a great temporary addition to our home and know he will be for you too!
