HELP ZARA GET ONCE IN A LIFETIME TRAINING FOR ADOPTION!
Zara has been in our care for over 3 years, more than half of her life. When she arrived in care she had heartworm and was intact. Heartworm requires a very extensive treatment that took over a year to complete, which also meant she could not be spayed until her treatment was complete. After a long and treacherous treatment process Zara was adopted into a home, but unfortunately it did not work out. She then came back to our kennel facility where she waited nearly a year for a foster to take her on. Zara was very loved in her foster home, however to no fault of her own the foster was unable to continue caring for her and she came back to our facility where she has since been for another year.
Prior to coming into care she had been given way too much freedom which resulted in the loss of life of a kitten as well as a few altercations with other dogs and an incident with a delivery driver. However, if you have the pleasure of meeting Zara you will quickly see she is an absolute sweetheart who loves people and is actually quite good with other animals, so long as she has an experienced/confident handler who advocates for her.
This is the reason we have set up this fundraiser. Zara has been offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to enter a foster to adopt home and undergo training with Liz (Your Favourite Dog Trainer) to ensure a smooth transition. We often do fundraisers for medical reasons, however as a rescue who offers rehabilitation, this training will offer Zara the skills she needs to be successful in her new home.
The training starts on February 18th so we don't have long to raise the funds. Please share if you're unable to support financially. Every little bit helps! ❤️

RIESLING'S BEHAVIOUR REHABILITATION
Riesling is a 4 year old hound mix that joined TLC in August, 2022. While at her foster home a few unwanted behaviours began to present themselves. We have witnessed crate space guarding, mild resource guarding , general insecurity/fear due to sensitivity, stranger danger, moderate alert barking and, mild separation anxiety. Despite these obstacles, Riesling is curious and very sweet! She loves her people but, is independent and not into cuddling/affection. She is a great work-from-home buddy and has even joined her Foster Mom at the office! Her favourite thing to do is go for long walks where she can follow her nose. She loves to train and is quick to pick up new commands and concepts. With so many great qualities to offer, we aren't giving up on this girl!
Our goal for Riesling is to to support her on her journey to adoption by managing behaviours, and provide her with transferable skills her future family can learn and utilize. We hope that with additional professional support we can further determine and lessen the impact of triggers that are debilitating to her mental wellness. Allowing us to better understand and manage her poor behaviours. This will be done by strengthening her ability to trust people, building her confidence further, and utilizing the best methods and tools suited to her. You can support Riesling on her journey by donating towards her training costs, including yummy high value treats, training tools and professional training support.

Junior's
Bladder Stones -
UTI - Incontinence
Junior came to us from a very sad situation where his owner passed away and he was neglected afterwards. On arrival he was peeing blood and unable to hold his bladder. We found out he had bladder stones, which were removed, however he was still showing some incontinence. We have tried a few different medicines which proved ineffective, and now have found more blood in his urine. He was treated for a UTI and his incontinance requires lifelong management.
